Food processing is one of the largest sectors in India which has huge potential in terms of production, growth, value addition, consumption and exports. Currently the sector witnesses the emergence of new markets for processed and value added products both at national and international level. Food processing sector is a major source of employment / entrepreneurship and adds value to foreign exchange. The program with a focus on food industry has been designed in close coordination with stakeholders from Food industry to impart the knowledge and required skills to be a game changer in the field with “Learn, Do and Serve” as its guide.

Is this programme valid for government jobs?

Yes. The PGDM-FPBM is approved by AICTE and recognised by the Ministry of Education and Government of India, which means it is valid for government service and higher education purposes, equivalent to an MBA.

Which entrance exams are accepted?

IIPMB accepts CAT, MAT, CMAT and the IIPMB's own entrance test. You can apply even if your score is from a recent exam window.

What is the average salary after placement?

The average CTC for recent batches is ₹6.6 LPA. We will share the detailed placement report on request — just fill the form above.

What happens if I don't get placed?

IIPMB has a dedicated placement cell that works with 200+ companies. While no institute can guarantee 100% placement, our 95%+ record over three decades reflects the depth of our recruiter relationships. We continue supporting students until they are placed.

Can working professionals apply?

The PGDM-FPBM is a full-time residential programme. However, if you are a working professional, you may want to check our Executive Programmes, which are designed for candidates with prior work experience.

Do I need an Food and Allied Sciences background to apply?

Yes, The candidate must hold a valid Bachelor's Degree in Food and Allied Sciences with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA [55% in case of candidates who belong to scheduled caste (SC) scheduled tribe (ST) and persons with disabilities (PWD) category] from any University or Institution recognized by ICAR and UGC.

Is hostel accommodation available?

Yes, IIPMB has separate hostel facilities for male and female students on the Bengaluru campus. Accommodation charges are separate from programme fees.

Is education loan available for this programme?

Yes. Being an AICTE-approved and Govt. of India recognised programme, students are eligible for education loans from all major nationalised and private banks. Our admissions team assists with the documentation process.
