Dr. Lavanya B T is an assistant professor in the area of Agribusiness Mnagement at the Indian Institute of Plantation Management. She has Ph.D in economics with focus on Micro-level decision models in agriculture. Her experiences include University teaching, research consultancy and administrative role with State Government of Karnataka. As an ASEM DUO fellow at the Ghent University, Belgium, she had the unique opportunity to explore European policy making and agribusiness.
Dr. Lavanya has also served as an Associate Director in evaluation authority with the State Government of Karnataka and as a nodal officer for Karnataka Government’s internship program.
Dr. Lavanya’s research interests are in the area of agricultural economics, behavioural economics, policy analysis and project evaluation. Her research findings in the area of decision making, policy analysis, rural development, and natural resource management have been published in reputed international and national journals. Her current line of research include evaluation of sugar sector policies in India and modeling micro-level decisions in agriculture.
