Introduction

(a unique program for executives and entrepreneurs who wish to lead ) 2nd Batch 2023

Fellow Program in Management aims to develop accomplished and ethical researchers in the field of agribusiness, plantation, food and allied areas, who seek to discover and diffuse new knowledge in order to meaningfully contribute to the academic community in particular and to the larger business community and society, in general. The incorporation of diverse methodologies, philosophies and perspectives enables cultivation of critical thinking skills among the FPM scholars that results in relevant research outputs in their respective domains.

Program Educational Objectives

  1. Scholars of the program shall acquire knowledge in the area of agribusiness management in general and specific related domains in particular.
  2. Scholars of the program shall acquire analytical and methodological skills required to conduct research.
  3. Scholars shall disseminate research outcomes effectively through publications and presentations.

Program Outcomes

1. Apply knowledge in agribusiness management and related specialized areas of research.
2. Demonstrate problem solving skills with acquired knowledge of research.
3. Apply analytical skills in order to solve research problems
4. Use methodological skills to solve research problems.
5. Collect existing literature in the area of study and articulate research gaps.
6. Able to compose research output in the form of original and high-quality management research writings.
7. Disseminate research output through publications and presentations.

Research Areas

Faculty members at IIPM have a wide range of interests in the core areas of production and operations, human
resources, marketing, organizational strategy, finance etc., Some of the areas of faculty research includes: new venture formation and growth; social entrepreneurship and value creation; organizational learning and adaptation;
effect of self and groups on consumer behavior; human resources and competitiveness; strategic investments and
corporate growth, branding and new product development, strategic marketing and commodity price risk
management. The highlight of FPM program is to enable each scholar draws on faculty member’s diverse expertise
and interests to come up with a theme that suits his or her interests.

Specializations Offered

FPM offers specializations in the following areas related to domains specified earlier. Scholars can specialize in one of the following areas pertaining to commodities and associated agriculture domains with broader aspects of :

  • Economics
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Finance and Accounting
  • Marketing
  • Production and Operations Management
  • Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management
  • Strategic Management and Corporate Governance
  • Decision Science & Information system

Eligibility

For being considered eligible to apply for the program the candidate should have at least one of the following degrees from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as an Institute under Section-3 of UGC Act, 1956; or, recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India: a. Master’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering and Technology/ Management/ Economics/ Social Science/ Commerce/ Humanities with FIRST CLASS. b. A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 55% marks, CA/CMA/CS must also possess a graduation degree from a university recognized by AIU. Those appearing for their final examination in the respective discipline can also apply. Such students if selected shall be provisionally admitted, provided they complete all requirements in obtaining their Master’s Degree before 30th September of the year of admission. The admission of these candidates shall remain provisional until they produce the mark sheet proving that they satisfy the eligibility criteria. The deadline for submitting the final year mark sheet is 31st December.

Admission Test

The candidate should have cleared any of the following tests
  • Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs. Alternatively, the GMAT/GRE/UGC NET/JRF etc., with valid rscore.
  • Alternatively, the candidates could appear in the test conducted by IIPM Research Aptitude Test (RAT) for the rprogram.
  • The recently qualified JRF/SRF candidates can also apply (Please note this should not be later than two years of the JRF offer letter) in the relevant areas of specialization but they would need to appear in the test conducted by IIPM.
Admission Procedure The application shall be made in the prescribed form available at the Institute website. Attested copies of all the necessary Certificates and testimonials are to be attached with the applications. The candidate must submit an abstract of about 1500 words on the area of research interest (tentative research proposal) along with his/ her application. Selection Criteria rSelection of applicants for the Fellow Program shall be on the basis of the following criteria: Academic qualification and work experience Tentative research proposal and its presentation before the Selection Committee Personal interview The decision of the Institute Selection Committee regarding admission shall be final. Communication shall be sent only to the selected candidates. The Institution shall not entertain any queries or correspondence in respect of those not selected.

I Self-Support/Scholarship with valid National Level Fellowship –(JRF/SRF) of various funding agencies, e.g., UGC, ICAR, ICSSR, International Foundations, AICTE or other equivalent Fellowship Rs. 75,000 per year
II PIO / NRI / Foreign Nationals (with valid GMAT/GRE or other equivalent score) US $ 2250 per year
b. Other Charges Please note :
  • A registration/admission fees of INR 50,000/- (US $ 1200)
  • A lifetime non-refundable Alumni fee of INR 25,000/- (US $ 600)
  • A refundable security deposit of INR 50,000/- (US $ 1200) at the time of admission.
  • The security deposit shall be refunded only after completion of the program.
  • The security amount will be forfeited if a candidate fails to complete the program.
Duration Of The Programme A Candidate shall submit his/ her Thesis only after a minimum period of two years after registration. However, the maximum period allowed for the submission of the Thesis is five years from the date of admission to the Programme. Programme Structure
