Indian Institute of Plantation Management (IIPM) is an exclusive sectoral institute with the capability and expertise to contribute to the Agri, Plantation, Horticulture, and Allied sectors from various dimensions- education, export facilitation, capacity building and training, policy research, research and development, and others to meet the demand of the sector. Through its diverse interventions, the institute has become self-reliant over the years.
IIPM aims to strengthen connections with associated stakeholders including the Agri-plantation Industry, Small, Medium, and Marginal Planters, Commodity Boards of India, other Agencies, and Academia. It aspires to serve as a catalyst between the Government, Industry, and Academia thereby fostering the development of the Agri, Plantation, Horticulture, and allied sectors at large.
IIPM has four strategic objectives that are in line with the Government of India’s vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat and the achievement of a target of USD 1 trillion in exports by 2030.
- To impart continuing management education and management practices to students, professional managers, owner-managers, and government officials in Agri-plantations and associated agribusiness sectors to bring to them the latest techno-managerial ideas and practices.
- To forge and maintain a strong partnership with the industry from multiple perspectives
- To train young professionals/young entrants and estate inheritors for a leadership role in the agribusiness and the plantation sector through the program.
- To act as an information and intellectual resource center, and as a think tank for export facilitation, policy, strategic, and operational issues for Agri-plantations and the associated agribusiness sector.
IIPM has three AICTE-approved 2-year residential Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programs- Agribusiness and Plantations Management (PGDM-ABPM), Food Processing and Business Management (PGDM-FPBM), and Agricultural Exports and Business Management (PGDM-AEBM). Through these academic programs, IIPM is developing globally competent and socially responsible leaders and techno-managers for the Agri-plantation sector and is advancing internationalization through experiential learning, research collaboration, and multicultural immersion.

IIPM has also organized international conferences and seminars in academic partnership with US & UK institutions/universities. IIPM has a Study Abroad Program for its PGDM students, wherein students visit relevant countries to understand the programs of the Agri-plantation and Agri-business world.
