Dr. Dinesh Jain holds a Doctorate (FPM) from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), Masters in Agribusiness Management, and Bachelors in Agricultural Engineering. He has a diverse experience of over 15 years working as a researcher at IIMA and later as Assistant Professor at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India and National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) Pune. Dinesh has taught courses in domain of Entrepreneurship, Economics, Agribusiness Management, Rural Finance and Development and other related areas. Dr Jain has been visiting faculty to IIM Shillong and IIM Indore for courses  Agro based Entrepreneurship and Microfinance respectively during 2016-17 and 2018-2020. Dr Jain has guided 5 scholars for their doctoral research on MSME entrepreneurship, Role of social media influencers, and market potential for value added organic products.

Research and publications of Dr Jain span various topics including entrepreneurship, institutional design and behavior in water management, food & agriculture policy, biotechnology in agriculture, and the impact of development programmes. Dr Jain has guided 5 scholars for their doctoral research on MSME entrepreneurship, Role of social media influencers, and market potential for value added organic products.

Dr Jain was Programme Incharge for EDII’s Two year Post Graduate Programme in Management- Development Studies during December 2014- April 2017 and Academic Coordinator for Two year Post Graduate Programme in Management- Entrepreneurship during July 2020- November 23.

Prof Jain has also conducted many training programmes for bankers, govt. officials, faculty and students along with workshops and conferences in areas of Entrepreneurship, Leadership Development and Skill Enhancement, Project Finance, Credit and banking, and related management areas. He handled and conducted trainings for ATAL Faculty and Assam Agriculture University Government Projects/Schemes including National Higher Education Projects, Agri Clinic and Agribusiness Centre Scheme (ACABC), and Certificate Programme on Entrepreneurship for Officers of Defense Forces Programme for Officers at EDII including its Online Post Graduate certificate Programme on Small Business Management )Jointly with Digital Univesity of Kerela) and Advanced Certificate Course on Financial Entrepreneurship with US-CPA with Becker International.
