Dr S Senthil Vinayagam started his career during Jan 1991 as Programme Officer at Zonal Coordinating Unit, ICAR, Bangalore for nine years and Senior Scientist from Dec 1999 at CRRI, Cuttack & NRC for Soybean, Indore for eight years. Later he worked as Faculty Head (Training) at RGNIYD, Chennai for short period during 2007 and moved to NIRD, Hyderabad as Professor and Project Director for four years followed by Director (Agri. Extension) at MANAGE, Hyderabad from 2011 for three years. He worked as Principal Scientist (Agri. Extension) at Directorate of Sorghum Research for one year and later joined at ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad since 2015. He was deputed to South Africa, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka as an expert for sharing Indian experiences on Agricultural and Rural Development. He Published 10 books, 40 research articles in well reputed Journals and about 50 chapters/full papers in edited books/manuals and presented more than 70 papers in National and International seminar/conferences. Received Best Scientist Award from ICAR-NAARM during 2020 and Best Trainer Award during 2023. He served as Principal Scientist & Head, Education Systems Management Division, ICAR-NAARM. Presently, he is working as Director at Indian Institute of Plantation Management (IIPM), an Autonomous Organisation of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, Bengaluru.

Besides, he is also working as Chief Executive Officer, Association for Innovation Development of Entrepreneurship in Agriculture, Technology Business Incubator of ICAR-NAARM in strengthening startup ecosystem in agriculture, horticulture, veterinary and fisheries. So far about 350 startups were incubated, 80 accelerated and fund invested for more than 30 startups.
