Dr. Parvathi Jayaprakash is an Assistant Professor in the area of Business Analytics at the Indian Institute of Plantation Management, Bengaluru. She holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode and a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering from VTU, where she graduated with university rank honours.

Dr. Parvathi brings rich experience across academia, research, and consulting. She has previously served as a faculty member at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management Bengaluru and Jagdish Sheth School of Management. She was also a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. In addition to her academic roles, she has contributed as an Independent Assessor and Subject Matter Expert with the Karnataka Monitoring and Evaluation Authority, supporting the monitoring and evaluation of government programs and public policy initiatives.

Her teaching portfolio includes Business Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Business Statistics, Digital Business, Data Visualization, and Programming for Data Science. She actively trains students in tools like Python, SPSS, Power BI, Tableau, and Excel, combining theoretical knowledge with applied learning.

Dr. Parvathi’s research interests lie at the intersection of digital technologies and sustainable development. She focuses on how ICT can be leveraged for inclusive growth, public policy, and digital governance. Her research has been published in journals such as Information Technology for Development, European Journal of Development Research, Asia-Pacific Journal of Information Systems, and Operations Management Research.

She has authored chapters in books published by Springer and Bloomsbury, and her insights have been featured in national media outlets like The Hindu and Deccan Herald. Her work has been recognized with several awards, including Best Paper and Best Teaching Case Awards at prestigious academic forums.

Dr. Parvathi Jayaprakash’s research interests are in the areas of sustainable information systems, digital transformation, and technology for development. Her work examines the interplay between ICT, AI, Blockchain, and sustainability, with a focus on their applications in agriculture, healthcare, and public policy. Her research findings related to green IT transformation, ICT4D, e-waste management, and socio-technical innovations have been published in reputed national and international journals. Her current line of research includes developing AI and blockchain-based digital solutions for the plantation sector and exploring the societal impact of information technology on sustainable development outcomes.
